Our project takes active part at the 3rd Joint Annual Forum of the Sustainable Tourism Mission in Varna (Bulgaria)

01/12/2025

We contributed to the exchanges in the frame of the Sustainable Tourism Policy Labs for the showcasing of our thematic project’s results and challenges.

Collaborative spaces and the role of the DMOs

The AQUAMAN Project actively took part in the Forum and in the Sustainable Tourism Policy Labs (organised by the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry, project partner of Dialogue4Tourism Project) contributing to the exchange of best practices and showcasing how thematic project’s results can support more resilient and circular tourism models. At the same time, these labs offered a collaborative space where policymakers, DMOs, and local & regional stakeholders explored practical tools, and real case studies to integrate sustainability into tourism policy strategies.

Policy debate on circular tourism

The event also featured a high-level policy debate on circular tourism moderated by Ioannis Mardikis (EPLO, European Public Law Organisation, Greece. Project partner of the Interreg Euro-MED Dialogue4Tourism and AQUAMAN projects), highlighting the crucial role of long-term planning, institutional coordination, and a shift from linear to circular decision-making in the Euro-MED region. Through our participation, AQUAMAN project reinforced its commitment to scaling up circular tourism solutions and explored how thematic projects can actively contribute to shaping policies in sustainable tourism in the MED and the Black Sea area.
